Design Wall Monday

I have been slowing continuing with my Monet's Wedding Ring quilt this. I have a few rows put together but have not sewn the rows to each other yet.

I can see the rings but my husband says he can't. Do you think it looks like rings?

For anyone interested this pattern is by Judy Martin and is in her book titled Scraps.

I'm sorry, I don't see the rings.....I see the pattern and it looks like squares rather than rings to me. However, who cares as it is beautiful!I really like it alot. Once I read the title I realized that it is "modern art!"

I absolutely see the rings. Before reading the post I looked and thought "oh cool, a tesselated double wedding ring!" Here from Design Wall Monday. That's really pretty, I like your color scheme.

I'm supposed to work on this project too. I have the same concern regarding the rings. On Judy Martin's site one of the finishers used nine patch blocks with 5 white and 4 color squares. It really looks like rings and I'm tempted to do mine that way. I'm anxiously awaiting other comments before I start mine. Thanks for posting on your design wall.

I didn't see the rings at first, but then I squinted and looked through my eyelashes and I saw them! I am sure that once you begin to sew the rows together, the rings will appear!

I see rings, and I wish I had seen this quilt before all my kids got married, it is fabulous! I love the color scheme you are using. I am a true fan of scrappy.

the rings are there - and you are doing a wounderful job on this. I love Judy's book(s) and Scraps is one of my favorites. I am doing 'flower child' from it for my DD - and this year is where it's gets done. Have fun working on your 'modern art' and enjoy it!!!

This is pretty Kathie and if I was every going to make a Wedding Ring quilt, it would be one like this!

I guess I had no trouble seeing the rings because that's how Monet would have painted them: he was almost blind when he did his best, or most known work. I think that is a great idea and will be a beautiful quilt.

Now I want to make this one too.

I see the rings and would love to make this one for my daughter, who keeps asking me when I'm going to make her a DWR.

Your quilt is coming together beautifully! I'm a fan of Judy Martin books as well. Can't go wrong with her patterns.

The rings are definetely there and will be more prominent once you get things sewn together.

I see the rings and they look great!

I too am on the quiltvillechat site. A few of us from the Stashbuster site have created a spin off group just to work on Monet's Wedding Ring.
Some of us are doing the 9 patch variation like one lady did on the photo's on Judy's site and some are doing it the traditional way Judy created. Our group is here if you would like to join us:
