On my design wall are a bunch of bright squares. As part of my day time guild next month we are going to have a workshop on making an interlocking pinwheel quilt. We have to do the first couple of steps at home. Step one was picking out 49 six inch blocks of fabric. Though some of these are similar colors I wanted to make sure that I didn’t have two of the same fabric so swapped some with a friend.
Step two will be sewing these all together and then putting a border on it, I think 3 ½ inches or something like that. Then when we go to the workshop we cut it all apart and sew it back together and by magic we have pinwheels. I am very interested to see how this all takes place.
I think I will look at these for another day to make sure I don’t want to replace any of the fabrics and then I will start sewing them together.

Sounds like you are doing the "Twister" quilt. I helped my mother-in-law make the blocks a couple of weeks ago for a gift she is making. You'll love it! Have fun!
(One tip, when you go to re-cut the top into the pinwheel pieces -- make sure you keep them in the order you cut them for ease of putting the pinwheels back together. The pattern instructions don't mention that -- I found that out from a blog writer who made one and trust me not keeping them in order will cause a reconstruction nightmare -- ask me how I know!)
I've made this before. You might want to look again at your setting by value. The top of the last vertical row has 2-3 fabrics that will all blend together and the pinwheel won't show. I saw one other place, towards the top right over a few rows (sorry I can't see the design wall while commenting). It is a fun quilt to make, but you work with a lot of semi-bias when resewing.

If this is the Twister quilt, you'll have a lot of fun with it. I'm kind of addicted to them because they go together so quickly and they really are fun. They make GREAT kids quilts. I've been playing around with these and I'm quilting one in which I used the twister blocks as the border. Check my blog in the next couple of days for a picture!
