This Carpenter's Star quilt is what is currently pinned to the design wall. I sewed some of the blocks into 3 rows last night but that is the only difference from this picture.
This is my "why did I start another project" quilt. I have a couple in progress and will have 3 more in progress after an upcoming fiber arts conference this coming weekend. I didn't NEED another project to work on.
One day I looked in a bin of fabrics that there was the gold floral and the green that went with it. I had just been tossing patterns that I would never use and in looking through my binder saw the Carpenter's Star. Well after finding that fabric I just had to start this quilt. I gout out my Accuquilt GO and my 6 1/2 half square triangle die and went to town and had it cut out in no time.
I love the way it is turning out. It will only be about 48 x 48 so I need to think up what to do for borders and will probably have to buy some fabric for that.
Today I am going to try and get a customer quilt done I started yesterday. It is larger than I can comfortably do right now with my injured thumb so loaded and did a little on it yesterday and hope I can get it done today.
This is going to be a busy week so I am only making daily goals, nothing longer term. I did get UFO #1 done so will be posting pictures of that closer to the end of the week because I will not be here on the 1st to do so.

Great block and lovely fabric!
This is a pattern I want to do some day. Your quilt is really looking good.
It looks great. I have a lot of those projects that just call out to me and I can't resist starting :)
Oooh... something new to work on. Although focusing on UFO's this year I do allow myself new quilts too. But I'm hoping to finish quite a few UFO's. So, go with a new one every once and a while. I like to quilt in smaller time allotments. so I will do bigger quilts over several days. But, then, quilting isn't a business for me, yet. B.
Beautiful...very springy looking :)
Very pretty!
Gorgeous! Yes, I have really been resisting the urge to start something else. I do have a few things in process so I am pushing to finish before starting more. I hope your thumb is better soon, it is the time of year I get more customer quilts coming in, so I am sure you will too!!
Startitis is not a curable disease but it can be fun! The Carpenter's Wheel looks terrific. That GO cutter sure made short work of the cutting.
Surely you can find something in your stash to finish up the Carpenter's Star. Want to keep the Used more than the Purchased!
Love your fabrics. They work very well with that pattern.
I like the way quilt turned out. Green and gold look great together. I guess you will be using up more of your stash for the borders? Good Luck.
Lots of pieces in that block!
Very striking!
Those must be large HST's to make a quilt 48" x 48"...very cool!
I sure like the Carpenter's Star. Very cute in the green and gold.
Very pretty. I'm made that pattern and it does go together pretty quickly, so you shouldn't feel bad about starting something new!
I really like that - and the colors are great!
I've always loved this block. Will be interesting to see how yours evolves.
