Well my design wall has the same thing on it as it did last monday, my convergence quilt from the workshop. I kept feeling like it needed something so kept it there all week looking at it.
The only thing I could come up with was it needed some sort of applique so I cut out this black kitty and pinned to it yesterday.
What do you think? Should I keep it plain or go with the black cat?
Here is also a picture of the quilting I did over the weekend. It is so nice and time efficient to load a large piece of backing on the frame and then quilt one runner after another. I used up 4 smaller pieces of batting on these 5 runners so my stack of batting looks a whole lot more managable now.
10 MINUTE CHALLENGE
As for my challenge to clean 10 minutes in the quilt room each day before quilting, well I have not been down to the quilt room (basement) yet so have not done that today. I need to run a few errands first so it will have to wait until later.

I have a particular fondness for cats, so I like the applique idea. It's a beautiful quilt either way.
Very pretty runners!
I like the cat addition...maybe add in a ball of yard unravelling around the edge that the cat is chasing?!?
Could be made from a bias strip from one of the darker fabrics. I am great at thinking up things for other quilters to do :)
I love the convergence quilts..the kitty is a great addition!
I think Quilter Kathy has a great idea with the yarn ball......
I like the addition of the cat. It adds a nice little spark of interest to the top.
Wow, what a change! I don't even like cats, but this is one that I would love to see in person. Great additon!
LOVE the black cat!
Great idea with the kitty :)
I think the applique is great! And the table runners are fab!! I have been making runners and quilting them on my regular machine. I have toyed with the idea of spray basting them on a big batting and backing on the longarm frame. But I have too many quilts to do there too, yea!! PS Lime green is not one of my favorite but I like the inspiration fabrics and want to do something different from usual.
Love all your runners! Good idea with the one backing.
I quilted four string placemats and one runner using just one backing piece. In fact I had just one long piece of strings and cut them into the individual pieces after the quilting was done. I was so proud of myself. Love your runners: would love to do some sometime.
I like the cat and the idea about the ball of yarn. Your table runners are beautiful.
I don't have a time limit, but I do have a checklist of chores on a small notecard by the machine. Before I start sewing, I do one of the chores on the list and check it off. I also make myself put up all my leftovers after I finish a quilt. Both of those two things help me keep my sewing space usable.
Love the kitty--what a cute pose she's got! I also like the ball of yarn idea :)
Your runners are pretty. Another clever time saver there.
I LOVE that cat.
Katie, I enjoy reading your blog. Really love those table runners, do you have a pattern? Not sure on how to make the curve??
