Sunday Stash Report and Hospice Quilt

I had a good week regarding stash reduction. I made a backing for a lap quilt, used stash to back 4 table runners and made 2 additional table runner tops and DIDN'T BUY A THING. Current stats:

Used this week: 9 yards
Used YTD: 130.5 yards
Purchased this week: ZERO
Purchased YTD: 100.5

Net fabric used in 2011: 30 yards

Since we are already six months into the year 30 yards does not sound like that much of a reduction but since this year I am trying to concentrate more on using up some of the really old stuff and using up some of the smaller pieces that are hard to store and trying to "freshen" my stash some I think I am doing well.

Ann L dropped this little hospice donation quilt to me on friday. She pieced it from a kit I cut, I quilted it and then returned it to her for binding. This will find its way to hospice in a month or two.

My hubby and I delivered 9 quilts to hospice house on friday morning. Seven of them were from my night time guild and two from members of the day time guild I belong to. All very nice quilts and I am sure will be much appreciated.

Sounds like you have a plan and are executing it regarding your stash. Congrats on the 9 yards out.

We always want more. You are reducing/refreshing your stash by 5 yards a month. That sounds great to me! Keep it up and that will be 60 yards of old fabric out completely.

Congrats on the "zero." Sounds like you have a great plan to use your stash. Wish I had used that much so far ;-).

You have been busy. That's great that you are finding ways to use up your smaller pieces. I find that challenging. I know those quilts are appreciated at hospice.

That's great Kathie, I think quilts can be so comforting to hospice patients and it's really nice that you've continued the project.
