Design Wall Monday - June 6, 2011

This table runner top that I finished up last night is what is on my design wall. The pattern is called Jacob's Jazz. I think it turned out cute (color is off in the picture) but took a long time to make. The piecing was easy but since there were so many narrow strips it seemed to take forever to sew. Not sure if I will make this one again or not.

I am going to try and get a couple more table runners quilted today. After that I am not sure what my next piecing project will be. I could go back to sewing up all the tumblers but I am very tired of them. I could work on my UFO of the month but that is also another table runner and I feel like working on something else, just don't know what. Does that ever happen to you? Maybe inspiration will strike me after a few errands and quilting the runners.

Next week will start our college tour trips. Gee seems like a couple of years ago we were trying to figure out day care and camps for the summer and now we will be touring colleges. We are going to start off with the University of Maryland at College Park which according to the website is about 8 miles from Washington DC. It is a huge University which I don't like the idea of but Mandy does. It is the most expensive and the highest SAT and GPA requirements of the three state universities we are going to visit but on the good side I believe it is the closest to home.

Jaccob's Jazz is a beauty. Looks complicated to put together too. Time to take a break from them, but since you are on a roll with table runners might be a good time to get June UFO done! Sandi You are welcome to come visit my neutral stash...

I like you Jacob Jazz. However, it looks like a puzzle, like the color combination. Great job.

Hi Kathie - I love the runner. I made this pattern once before and I found that the directions had me cutting too many strips. Did that happen when you made yours?

I like this runner. I tend to do runneers in spurts. You on the other hand seem to go at them like the Energizer Bunny. Can't wait to see what you will work on as a change of pace. How is your recovery going?

I like your table runner. It has a neat geometric look to it.
