Design Wall Monday - June 27, 2011

I finished this small quilt top yesterday but it is still tacked to my design wall. Quick and easy and will make a great craft show quilt. I will have to search my stash and see if I might have anything for a backing for this but it will wait till I get a few other things done.

Yesterday's project was quilting this little hospice quilt. I pieced this. Well really the whole middle is just a panel so I only put two borders on it after shopping Carol's stash for fabrics to go with it. Another guild member Elsie made a backing for it and I will not send it off to one of my binding fairies for completiion.

I am still trying to get used to a different schedule for summer. So use to being by myself during the day and doing whatever (including noisy things) whenever I want to that with summer and a teenager that sleeps late it takes awhile to make adjustments.

Today I am going to try and get a couple of minor tasks done in the sewing room including a couple of block to make for a joint quilt and get another quilt loaded on the frame. This will be a payback to Ann for binding a couple of my own projects for me while I was unable to.

Wow, you've been very busy and productive! (I am busy, but have far less to show for it. LOL!) Isn't it funny how having school out can make such an impact on day-to-day operations? I hope you have a great week! :)

You are accomplishing a lot. At this point in the year, my garden takes over so much of my quilting time.

The horse quilt will be adored by anyone who loves horses. I have teenagers here too and they do curb my style :)

Yep summer schedule here too with a sleepy teen. I usually sew in the morning but I am being nice :). I remember being so tired as a teen and I wish now I could sleep like that!!

Love the quilts they are both adorable. Send your binding fairies my way!!

You get so much done. Nice little quilt for hospice.

No teens here sleeping in... but I wish I was!

It is hard to adjust to a different schedule. Since I starting working full time, I am not quite as impacted except for the mess and dishes in the sink when I get home LOL

This makes the 2nd horse quilt done, right? Someone is sure to be digging into their wallet when it's offered at your craft show table. I like how you added the black squares in the corners of the hospice quilt. I see you are taking full advantage of panels. Maybe you should sleep in too! Sandi

I laughed 'cause my teen has been sleeping till 11 or 12 everyday but our house is big so it feels like I'm alone! Still I make sure she gets up so she can do somethings before her daddy gets home!

wonderful quilts! My sewing room is right above my sleepy teens room. Sometimes I wait to start sewing, sometimes I don't!

Both projects look great. The medalion (sp?) quilt is gorgeous.

Nice quilts you're working on. Maybe the teenager will sleep later and later as the summer goes on.

I like both quilts, sometimes I think the binding takes longer than making up the top. lol
