Design Wall Monday - February 14, 2011
Started this quilt on saturday for the ill husband of my DHs co-worker. Made all the pieced blocks on saturday and then yesterday the DH helped me sew them into rows.
Even worked on a backing yesterday. Didn't want to go out and buy yardage so found 3 fabrics that would go together and cut 10 1/2 squares to piece a packing.
I hope to get this quilt on the frame midweek between customer quilts so that we can get it bound and to the guy early next week.
Since this pattern is Warm Wishes figured that was very appropriate for a quilt to wish someone well during all their treatments.

What a wonderful quilt! I'm sure it will bring comfort to your friend.
I don't think there is any better, get well gift than a quilt.
I am sure it will be much appreciated. Looks good!
Lovely quilt - and fabric choices. The feathery one is just great and makes the quilt flow. I'm sure it will be loved and appreciated.
Warm Wishes is such a great pattern. Like the color combination. I am sure it will make your husbands friend feel special.
You are right about the pattern. Just add a couple of strands to knot while sending healing thoughts. I like that you've found fabrics from your stash that work. I'm sure your friend will appreciate the sentiment. How's the thumb?
Great guys quilt and truly "warm wishes." I have done a couple of quilts for ill friends and/or co-workers and they have been really appreciated. I know he will feel comforted every time he curls up in it.
With quilts in these circumstances i often include a plain calico panel in the back so that friends and family can write on it (permanent marker).
I love your choice of colour and the balance you have achieved.
Quilts show you care! Hope the ill co-worker feels better soon.
Very cool looking!!
Wonderful quilt for a guy. Great pattern for a fast quilt.
