Design Wall Monday - January 17, 2011

This is what has been on the design wall the last few days. I cut boat loads of the rectangles with my Accuquilt GO and then started putting the blocks together. I think I have about half the blocks done at this point. I have been just calling it Christmas Bricks but I might have to come up with a better name.

I need to cut more black strips to continue but life has got in the way of sewing the last couple of days. I hope to get some time to work on this later today after I get home from a doctors appointment.

Nice bunch of bricks, this will be a lovely one. Black really sets off the pattern. I know you love your "GO".

Great use of the Christmas bricks. The black allows the bricks to shine.

How about "Christmas packages"!??

It reminds me of a basket weave, so you could call it Christmas Basket, or something like that.

I love this pattern.
The first time I saw it made up was by a few of the PR Quilt Guild gals. Your Christmas fabric quilts always look so lovely. Maybe the name could be "Woven Christmas something. Nice work, will be looking for it finished.

I think it looks like woven ribbons! Very pretty and a great use of bricks. I really like it.

I really like this. Don't usually think of black for Christmas but this is playing well.

Years ago I cut all the fabric for a quilt like this, for my DIL, but just as I was getting ready to begin sewing she told me she would rather have a jeans quilt. In the bag went the strips and over the years the fabric has gone into several other projects. Think I may need to pull that pattern out and try again. Thanks.

That GO cutter must really have sped you up to get this much done! Maybe they are fruitcake bricks, they'll keep until next Christmas :)

Nice project you've got going. Black always has a way of drawing attention to a quilt. Sandi
