Design Wall Monday - January 10, 2011
My Twin Sister quilt (Bonnie Hunter block) is what is currently on my design wall. I made the 12th block yesterday and then put on the dark purple (my daughter's suggestion) sashing. I have no clue what I am going to do for an outer border fabric so I might put this on the shelf to "age" a bit before I take it to a quilt shop to try and find something (nothing in my stash is appropriate).
I have an appointment this morning and then some chores to do when I get home but once I hit the quilt room I hope to finish getting my UFO loaded on my frame and start quilting it.
Have a great week.

I like how you grouped the blocks into sets of four. Your Daughter had a great idea to sash it with the purple. My favorite color.
The purple look wonderful with it. I sometimes leave things for a bit before I come back to them....That can be good or bad. Sometimes I end up forgetting about them!
the sashing is great with those blocks.
Does it need to be bigger? Maybe it doesn't need anything else. The darker teal might be good to try. Sandi
I love your quilt. I will say that it really does not need another border, unless you want it to be larger. It looks great as it is.
Purple border looks great on the quilt. I am sure that you will make a good choice for another border, if needed.
Very exciting that you are ready to quilt your UFO! You might have it done before the month is even half over!
Your quilt is looking great. Good choice on border and setting.
Very nice. Tell your daughter she was just right on the sashing color.
I like the dark purple for sashing. Very pretty!
Nice work! I like the sashing too. Can't imagine what to put with it--hope you find inspiration at the quilt shop. Sometimes I like to go to the least likely section of the store for defining my ideas--it can be easier to decide what you DON'T like!
Very nice quilt! Maybe a small border in a light purple, then another dark border? I always get Stuck here!!
sometime the aging process helps you find exactly what it needs.
I LUV this. Kathie I did find the pattern. I think I may try it out with xmas fabrics.
