I don't remember where you donate to but I know Project Linus also needs quilts for bigger kids. So think about trying to get it up to lap size. I like the idea of adding sashing to them. I think I might use fairly large sashing -- maybe 2 1/2" or so. And then add a couple of borders to the top and bottom to make it more rectangular. Ha! Look at me telling you exactly how I would do it. I might have to get my own black, white and red log cabin blocks out to work on!
